Will I need a touch up after my initial appointment?
Ombré brows is a two step process, initial appointment and a touch up appointment 6-12 weeks after. Within a week of your first treatment the color will fade as much as 30% or more lighter in shade and will healed to more of a natural makeup look. While some clients don’t need a touch up after their first appointment, most clients will need a second appointment to complete their desire look. (touch up is a separate fee)
How often is a touch up required?
In order to keep your eyebrow tattoo results looking fresh, a yearly touch up is recommended.
How long does it take?
The procedure takes roughly about 3 hours, sometimes more sometimes less. Please allow a solid 4-hour window for your appointment. I likely won’t need that much time, but this isn’t something I want to rush.
How long does it take to heal?
The average healing time takes about 7-14 days but for some it can take longer. Immediate after the procedure, you will notice your eyebrows being about 3 shades darker the ink is oxidizing into the skin for the color to settle by the 4th day most start to peel/scab. It is important that you leave the brows alone during this time or applying makeup of any kind on them. My take home kit provides a triple antibiotic you will apply once a day for the first 3 days to protect you from unsanitary environments or any dust or debris in the air. Once the brows have fully peeled they will be 30-40% lighter. However during this time please know the skin is still healing once the skin has healed more color will return and be more visible so dont panic the healing process require patience! No down time is required.
What’s the process like?
Consultation is done the same day of your appointment. I will discuss the aftercare with you and have you sign the consent & medical history form. You will also get a written copy of the aftercare instructions to take home. After taking your before photo, we will go over shaping the brow and customizing pigment color for you. Having photos of your ideal eyebrow will be helpful as well. Once we have agreed on a final shape (ultimately it is your decision. – but I will give my expert opinion on what I think suits you aesthetically.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Do not drink caffeine (coffee/tea/soda, etc) or alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment. Consuming alcohol or caffeine acts as blood-thinner. It will cause the skin to irritate and bleeding will reduce the pigment absorption as blood will push out the colors.
Do not take relief medicine such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin 24 hours before your appointment.
You should skip moisturizing for 24 hours as the drier the skin, the better the result.
Do not wax, shave or pluck your brows. Every attempt is made to retain all natural hair and integrate it into the design of the permanent eyebrows. In some cases, where shaping of the natural brow is required, a few hairs here and there may need to be removed to create a clean and aesthetically pleasing result. .
Please consult with your doctor before stopping any medication.
Do not take supplements such as vitamin E, Fish Oil, or any vitamins that may cause blood to thin 2 weeks prior.
What should I expect? Time frame of healing process vary per individual
Day 1 - 3: Brows will appear slightly thicker and darker than what you’ve expected. Sometimes may appear uneven because they may be swollen and some redness may still persist on some clients.
Days 3 - 14: Brows will be dry and itchy. Some clients slightly peel, while others may experience some scabbing. Once they start flaking, some areas of the eyebrows will fade more than others and as the pigment oxidizes, it will start to darken up again over a 3-4 week period. It may take up to four to six weeks for the true color to come through. Don’t be alarmed if the color seems to disappear during the healing process, this is due to layers of skin forming and is only temporary. We have no control over our body healing process, so please be patient. Any concerns can all be addressed during the touch up appointment.
If my brows were completed by a different artist, will my service be considered a touch up?
No. If your brows have been done by a different artist then your service will be considered an initial appointment. Coverups & Corrections done on previous work can be very complicated, time consuming, and 100% result cannot be guaranteed.
I require that anyone who has had their brows tattooed previously by another artist to send me pictures (full face front view and side views) 312.810.0852 before booking an appointment for Coverup & Correction or Brow Revival Service
If you book an appointment without disclosing previous cosmetic tattoo work, your deposit will be forfeited and your appointment cancelled.
Will eyebrow tattooing harm any existing eyebrow hair?
No, it will not harm any existing eyebrow hairs, as hair growth is mainly affected by hormones, health, and to a lesser extent, nutrition. However in some clients, getting an eyebrow tattoo can possibly stimulate hair to grow in the area that the tattoo is done. When this happens it's a real added bonus!
I already have permanent makeup and want to change the shape. Can you help?
NOT ALL PREVIOUS WORK DONE BY ANOTHER ARTIST CAN BE FIXED OR COVERED. Covering previous tattoo can be possible if your old tattoo is 80% or lighter, but it might take a few sessions to correct. It can be more tricky to correct depending on how bad it is.
An average eyebrow tattoo correction usually require three or more sessions, and much more time, and work than making new permanent eyebrows on virgin brows. Most permanent makeup corrections require client's patience and dedication. Due to the amount time and work needed to repair bad permanent makeup tattoo the cost of repair is not negotiable. The cost and number of sessions can not be predetermined.
Again if you book an appointment without disclosing previous cosmetic tattoo work, your deposit will be forfeited and your appointment cancelled.
